NFTC Welcomes Omnibus Bill Provisions to Ease Flow of Agricultural Exports to Cuba

Washington, DC – The National Foreign Trade Council(NFTC) and USA*Engage today praised Congress for including in theFY2010 omnibus spending bill provisions to ease the flow of U.S.agricultural exports to Cuba. The spending bill was approved by theSenate yesterday and is expected to be signed by President Obama in thecoming days. NFTC Vice President for Global Trade Policy Jake Colvinreleased the following statement:

“We applaud Congress forincluding Cuba-related provisions in the omnibus bill. The agricultureprovision will make it easier for American farmers and otheragricultural exporters to sell their goods to Cuba. This is a small butwelcome step in the right direction, and it is great to see that fixingCuba policy remains on the radar screen for Congress.”"
